Roof Collapses At Future Site Of Restaurant In Northern Westchester

A roof collapse due to heavy rains has put the brakes on the construction of a new Italian restaurant at the Peekskill train station.

The incident took Thursday, Jan. 24 during heavy rains after a sprinkler line broke, sending water gushing, causing the roof to collapse inside the former Kelley's Restuarant, according to News 12.

The owner told the news channel that construction was just about to get begin on the empty 2,500-square-foot space, but that he plans to continue his effort to open an Italian restaurant.

Once finished, the new restaurant will replace the once-popular Kelley's Restaurant.
